Our Art Classes
Pour Painting
Using acrylic paints and some additives, you will create dazzling and unexpected effects on stretched canvas. Without requiring tools or brushes, paints are poured onto the canvas using different techniques and tilting to cover the entire piece. Whether you have no experience or a lot of experience, you’ll certainly create a masterpiece every time.
Hand-Knitted Blanket
With chunky yarn, you’ll learn knit stitching techniques using only your hands. There are no tools required and this is a very fun and easy activity that builds individuality and community alike in a calm, relaxing environment. You will be able to take your cozy blanket home with you to enjoy year-round.
Lighted Signs
Have fun creating a unique, custom sign for your home. You’ll be using a pallet-board or canvas, and adding images, words, or both using a variety of stencils and colors. Once your work of art is complete, you’ll add some LIGHTS so you can decorate your world with your own style!
Sculpting
This class is for beginners. We’ll show you step by step how to take clay and mold it into a mug, bowl, or planter. You’ll be using the pinchpot technique that can be customized into your own creation. Working with clay is incredibly peaceful and relaxing. Create your own fully functional housewares that you can enjoy every day.
Comic Book Art
This is an introduction to comic book drawing and storyboard layout. It’s a great opportunity for your kids (or grown-ups!) to find creative expression through illustration and characterization. Whether you want to create your own superhero, villain, or any character you can dream of, enjoy this entertaining class and start your own comic book!
Who We Are
Paradise, California; it’s a small town and it’s where it all began. Janice and April were born and raised there along with their sister Marsha. While their lives followed different paths, Paradise would also be the reason everything has come together today.
Janice has 19 years experience in the healthcare field both practical and teaching, with a Master of Science degree in Clinical Nurse Leadership, and eight years experience researching social climates in the workplace and how they affect productivity and longevity.
April is an educated and practiced artist, a weight loss coach, and has over 20 years experience researching interventions to create mind-body synergy and optimal holistic health and well-being. She has a passion for art and helping others achieve their goals in life. She believes anything is possible, and everyone deserves to have a life they love.
After high school, Janice and April went on their own adventures. After traveling and living abroad, including a few years in London, April finally settled in the Seattle area near Marsha in 2005. While Janice and April were still close, Janice’s life and career remained Northern California. When the Camp Fire destroyed the town of Paradise on November 8th, 2018, a new beginning was created for Janice. She and her family had lost almost everything, so they moved up to Seattle to join April and Marsha and this new beginning inspired fresh ideas, ambitious goals, and new adventures.
